Recently on our morning walks around the neighborhood, I've been observing a neighbor's newly planted holly trees. They are a great addition to the landscape. However, I've noticed that the poor things look stressed from the heat and dry weather. They're starting to shed leaves. Ask any master gardener and they'll tell you that new plantings need watered weekly until established. A little tender care could have been prevented the stressed condition of these treees.
Unfortunately, if not watered soon, these new plants risk dying. A little extra care now can make all the difference to their future.
I couldn't help thinking that we humans are much like these new trees. If we don't receive proper care, our bodies send out signals. The question is, do we pay attention to those signals and respond? Or do we ignore them and suffer the consequences? Psalms 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Our bodies have a magnificent capacity for self-healing.
Are you making sure you are supplying what your body needs to not only survive but to be healthy?

My First Blog
Welcome everyone. As time goes on, I'll be sharing my thoughts and reflections on health and fitness from a biblical perspective. And from time to time I'll share other tidbits of knowledge about living life to the max with God. Gleaned from our daily Bible reading.
I'm sure I'll also be sharing some of my recipes. Collecting recipes has been one of my hobbies since the early '70's. I like to take a basic recipe that sounds delicious and modify it to be healthier. Without losing its taste appeal.
Hey, we all love to eat, right? So why not make it healthy but keep it yummy too. That's my motto!
