You see, we live in a negative world…
Satan is “the god of this world,” and he seeks your destruction. God says you must “resist” him.
(2 Corinthians 4:4; 1 Peter 5:8-9).
People will put you down and try to hinder your progress (Ezra 4:4-5).
That’s just the way things are.
Even most “religion” is negative. Many preachers will even say you are a “no-good sinner” … or just a “saved sinner” if you are born again.
But the Bible says…
God is On Your Side!
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
(Romans 8:32).
That’s right…
God is for you!
In fact, the Bible says God sent Christ into the world to save you! (John 3:16). Jesus said he came to seek and save you when you were lost (Luke 19:10).
How’s that for positive motivation!
But there is more…
God inspired the Scriptures to train you in real living and teach you how to live life to the max! (2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 10:10). God wants superheroes who will stand up for truth and bring things to pass with the words of their mouths (Mark 11:23-24).
Now, if that’s not positive motivation, I don’t know what is! But we are just getting started…
God’s Word also reveals that…
God is With You!
Have you ever strolled past a graveyard at night and been afraid? Spooky, isn’t it?
Well, life itself can be spooky and unnerving! How does it feel to go barreling down a highway at high speed, never knowing if the oncoming cars just might swerve over into your lane, smash into your car head-on and kill you instantly?
You say, "How can I have positive motivation while living with that kind of possibility?"
Well, you can!
First, remember that God is for you, as we have just seen.
Then you need to realize that God is with you. His presence and your trust in him protects you. Listen to this…
“Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no harm shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near…”
(Psalm 91:9-10).
The Word also says, that you “by the power of God are guarded through faith” (1 Peter 1:5).
God’s power and protection are available to you when you trust in him. Why?
Because God is with you.
The Israelites were protected from Pharaoh’s army and passed through the sea unharmed (Exodus 14:24-29)…
Because God was with them.
The three Hebrew men survived the fiery furnace and came out without the smell of smoke (Daniel 3:27-28)...
Because God was with them.
Daniel was thrown into the den of hungry lions, and emerged unharmed the next morning (Daniel 6:16-22)…
Because God was with him.
Jesus Christ ministered miracles to the multitudes. Then the jealous religious leaders arrested him, had him beaten, crucified and buried. But three days later he walked out of that tomb…
Because God was with him! (Acts 10:38; 13:32-33)
The Apostle Paul was shipwrecked, stranded on an island and then bitten by a serpent. But he survived it all.
(Acts 27-28)…
Because God was with him!
And God is with you, too!
“Whoever puts his trust in the Lord is kept safe” (Proverbs 29:25)
“We know that whoever is born of God doesn't sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him” (1 John 5:18).
The devil can’t touch you if you are trusting God and walking with him. In this never-ending battle between good and evil God’s warriors come out victorious. We are kept safe because God is for us and with us in the battle!
“The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)
Isn’t that exciting? Knowing that God is for you, with you and protecting you is positive motivation of the highest order! Now you can really “go for it” in life! The armor of God keeps you safe so you can maintain your positive motivation and really go for it!
And yet, there is even more.
The Bible also teaches that….
God is In You!
Jesus told his followers, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8).
And the Bible says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him” (James 1:5)
The Spirit of God is within you to guide you daily! If you have your ears and heart open to him. Hey, that’s positive motivation to go for it! Just ask God for wisdom and he gives it to you!
Talk about an edge!

This is one of the key themes in our Super Heart Living series.
Did you notice the words, “heart undivided…whole heart”? That’s the key to positive motivation. Having your heart solid on God’s Word.
That’s what the Apostle Paul means when he talks about “bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
The Word says we are to “think about” positive things. And it instructs us to renew our minds to God’s Word.
(Philippians 4:8; Romans 12:2).
